inspired delights .. ♦

Inspired by a vintage strip of needle point found at a thrift shop in Anchorage, Alaska. I've been holding on to it for quite awhile ..
not know quite what to do with it.
It came wrapped neatly in a bag with a few more odds and ends
obviously from the same person. Included was a receipt for the burgundy wool yarn dated 1956 .. well AK wasn't even a state until 1959! Pretty cool, eh?

Groove on the Move Messenger Bag

The moment I saw this fabulous piece of art I knew I needed to preserve all the wonderful work that went into it ... as it was sitting on the shelf at the Senior Center Thrift Shop in Wenatchee Washington framed in a seriously too yellow frame.
I bought this lovely, took it home, dismantlement it and carefully cleaned this glorious piece of nostalgic needlework.
What came out...
a messenger bag that will be sure to delight!

fun fun fun

Your bags (and the stories that go with them) are drool-worthy. And that Ursula Leguin quote says it all!

Love that piece of embroidery on your masterpiece!
