we are buried under a shroud of clouds
Olympia sits at the south of Puget Sound
an inlet of the Pacific Ocean .. so gathers weather
it is a complex estuarine system of interconnected
marine waterways and basins
here one must truly find appreciation in the shades of grey
You must not blame me if I do talk to the clouds
Henry David Thoreau
my good buddy (lovely daughter) & I set off to Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge
a mere 10 minutes from home •• yipee!
she gladly obliged to be my model
I told her I would try not to get her "goosebumps"
it was in mid 40s .. not really that cold
but our Alaska blood isn't as thick as it used to be!
**both of these gorgeous bags are created using
repurposed leather jackets .. much out of style but now recreated to live a new and wonderful life!
we love the Nisqually barns
this land was homesteaded early 1900s by the Brown Family
the farmer built 4 miles of dike to drain
1,500 acreas of salt marsh
in 1974 the area was purchased and in its place the refuge was created to provide habitat for a great variety of nesting waterfowl and migratory birds
clouds come floating into my life
no longer to carry rain or usher storm
but to add color to my sunset
Rabindranath Tagore
.. enjoy ..
