one year

Well ... we have just past the one year marker of being in Olympia.

It is amazing how long it takes to really make a place one's home ...
I had kind of lost myself with all the moving,
getting kids settled in, exploring the area,
making new friends ..♦
I found myself wishing for things past
homesick for old friend and favorite places.

Even though this time of year can be a bit dark and gloomy I love the way things slow down from the usual hectic pace.

I spent all day in the kitchen yesterday.
I organized the cupboards, deep cleaned top to bottom,  refilled my spices
... all the while a large pot of spaghetti sauce simmered
filling the house with wonderful delights.
Everyone came home cold & hungry.
There is no better way to make yourself be home.

it's always a nice feeling when you finally start to think of a place as 'home'. i've moved quite a lot and sometimes you never think of a certain place that way...
i do like the quote at the end though, that's so true...

great bags!!

I can't believe it's been a year already!

I wish we were neighbors, Lisa. That spaghetti looks wonderful! I'd make myself right at home in your well tended little nest:)

It sure isn't an easy task settling into someplace new. Hang in there-it will get better:) xx
